The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Zoological Society has supported this project from its earliest stages with funding for fieldwork. The zoo opened a new African elephant exhibit in May 2011 and brought Tim out for the grand opening to share about his research and elephant conservation efforts worldwide with donors, zoo staff, and the public.

Quantitative Spatial Ecology, Evolution and Environment IGERT Program, University of Florida

The QSE3 IGERT supports Tim’s data analysis and coursework at the University of Florida and has generously supported expenses for fieldwork and for presentation of project findings at research conferences.

Center for African Studies, University of Florida

The Center for African Studies funded Tim’s Master’s coursework through a Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowship for Swahili. The Center also supports his continued fieldwork on the impacts of elephants on other large herbivores.

Idea Wild

Idea Wild provides equipment for field researchers worldwide. They provided Tim with GPS units and a laser rangefinder that enable him to collect spatially located data about habitat use and interactions of elephants and other large herbivores in southern Africa.
