Hey all,
Just a quick update. Tomorrow morning we leave early to head up to the Caprivi Strip of Namibia to start data collection in Bwabwata and Mudumu Natinoal Parks. I am esxcited to get a first look into these parks. Email access is likely to be rare out in the bush but I’ll try to send updates on the work when I can.

Hello all,
I am in Gaberone, the capital of Botswana. This week I met with Dr. Cyril Taolo, Assistant Director of Research and Statistics for the Botswana Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) to obtain the necessary permits to enter the parks and conduct elephant research. I now have all those permits and next week the real work begins. Stay tuned for updates on the fieldwork, but please be patient, we only have occasional access to the internet in the remote areas where we work.
